Recently over Spring break there was a major malfunction in Gudauri, Georgia, near Russia. A video that is very disturbing emerged on the internet on Friday of a ski lift that is hurling people off. This resort is in the Caucasus mountains, and a total of 8 people have been injured. And it turns out that only 2 of the injured were non Georgian, 1 was Swiss and 1 was Ukrainian.

This relates to APUSH because of the safety of the environment. As seen in "The Jungle", by Upton Sinclair. There are times in history where people are concerned for the safety of the common people. I hope that this gets taken care of and that technology can become more advanced.

  1. I loved how you related this to the Jungle because this book is clearly written to help educate the population of the horror of the meat packing industry.

  3. How does something like that happen? You would think that with our technology today, we could avoid equipment malfunctions like this one.
