Liam Taylor - Jimmy Kimmel Speaks Out

Summary: This Monday, Jimmy Kimmel told an emotional story about his son, born with a heart defect that almost led to his death. It talked also about the injustice about the healthcare system, which is surprising to hear from a man that you wouldn't expect to be a user of the system. Overall, he tried to address the issue and shout about injustices, while yet not bing rude to the president.

Analysis: Wow. It's such an emotional video because it's always hard to watch someone go through that. However, I think he did a good job of being quite professional throughout. Before reading this article, I had not heard anything about this event, because I don't watch his show. But I do believe it was written to update people on the controversy over American healthcare and offer to show Kimmel's perspectives.

Synthesis: This can relate to the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848. Women like Susan B Anthony and Elizabeth Stanton were furious and done with the unfair treatment. Tehy wrote down all of their angers and spoke out, similar to what Jimmy did in this speech.

  3. I'm glad Jimmy Kimmel spoke out about this because there are thousands upon thousands of people that have been rejected by the insurance companies and people don't seem to care until it happens to them.

  4. Healthcare? Pffft, pshaw. Survival of the fittest! The ill should die out. Actually using technological advancements in medicine for anyone but the rich and powerful without financially incapacitating people is a terrible idea. We should, in addition, lock up all books and resources for information, destroy public water fountains, and demolish public toilets. If you can't afford a residence, you don't get to pee!
