Liberal Candidate Moon Jae wins South Korea's Presidential Election- Leah Lara

South Korea has recently undergone a presidential election due to the impeachment of their former president on corruption charges. Moon Jae is the first far left candidate to be elected into office in decades, and many people are excited to see what he will bring to the table. Many young and students voted for Moon Jae due to their concern over alarmingly high collage prices, and the lack of jobs available for young people. Park Hye-soo, a 20-year-old student agreed. “There are a great number of students in Korea who cannot attend university because the tuition is so high. I voted for the candidate I believe is most considerate to the needs of ordinary people,” she said.

This outcome is very similar to the France election, where a liberal candidate beat out a hyper conservative one. Unfortunately, due to Trump, their election might bring conflict with the United States. I'm very glad to see politicians that are concerned with human rights, and hope they will effect positive change. I just hope we are not stuff at the wrong end of a unnecessary conflict.

  1. Maybe these two elections highlight cause for hope in America and our next election steering more liberal.
