Gracie Darlington: These states have banned sanctuary cities

Many political battles are erupting in state legislatures regarding whether or not to allow sanctuary cities in their states. These cities, which refuse to enforce certain immigration laws, have been recently banned in the state of Texas under governor Greg Abbott and many other states seem to be following the same measures. Donald Trump and Attorney Jeff Sessions have already vowed to strip funding from sanctuary cities.
I think that sanctuary cities are super important and cool. Their defiance to the federal government's orders to deport illegal immigrants is refreshing and comforting. This struggle between the federal and state governments has been repeated time and time again in the history of this country, and can specifically relate to the debates between Hamilton and Jefferson in regards to which should receive more legislative power.
