Lauren Cargill - The New Age of Airline Rage

Summary: Recently there have been many news stories centered around incidents on airplanes. People are wondering why there has been so much violence recently. Despite this, data shows that both airline incidents and customer complaints have greatly decreased in recent years. Studies have found that often times violence on planes comes from personal stress. Politics, work, and family life all affect a persons attitude while flying. The lack of leg room on planes also causes people to be territorial creating further tension. Airlines are changing their marketing to create cheaper flights without as many extras. You have to pay for your bag and food and you have to wait for you're group to board. All the lines in the airport cause even more stress. TSA is always long and you have to take off your shoes, belt and make sure your liquids are the right size. All of these factors lead people to go into flights already on edge.

Analysis: I think it's really interesting to read reasons why these incidents occur. I definitely think airlines should implement policies to change some of these things. This could relate to 9/11 because increased TSA security is one of the reasons problems occur.

  1. I like your synthesis! I do believe that the need to place some additional policies to help things run smoother to decrease the amount of incidents occuring!
