Cal Thompson, 1st Period - Trump Tweets

This article reports Trump's recent claims on Twitter that all polls showing that people disagree with him are incorrect. Not only has Trump said this; he has also gone so far as to call it "fake news" and tweet specifically at the "failing nytimes" (New York Times). The article maintains a neutral stance, providing tweets and facts without opinions.

Essentially, Trump refuses to acknowledge that large numbers of real people actually disagree with what he's doing. While I do not entirely trust the news, as it calls shots too soon in some cases and may use dubious sources, I would not go so far as to say anything I didn't like from it was fake, nor would I employ heap name-calling tactics. Trump's continuously childish actions, while making him a comedy goldmine, do not bode well for our next four years- especially considering his unexpected skill at signing executive orders. Trump heavily relates to Gilderoy Lockhart from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets- a celebrity personality who's questionable actions begin to turn his own supporters against him, and who is extremely inept in his area of profession.

  1. Nice synthesis. I really just hope he does more good than he does bad... Hopefully everything will be OK.
