Texas JV Football Player Dies - Sydney Bridgeforth

Summary

After being critically injured during a football game on last Thursday night, Joshua High School Sophomore Aaron Singleton died Friday afternoon.  The Fort Worth Star - Telegram reported that Singleton was rushed to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth after suffering a seizure on the sidelines during a junior-varsity game against Cleburne High School.

Singleton walked off the field toward the end of second quarter and talked to their trainer and said he had a headache.  While been assessed he began to have a seizure and was rushed to the hospital.

The 15-year-old was pronounced dead at 2:48 pm; he had been declared brain dead Friday morning.  His organs were donated to help other families.

Analysis

This article was written by Tiffany Ditto and Claire Ballor.  It was written with no bias, but to inform each reader of what happened with this student.  The tales of this event are really sad.  I am so sad for his family.  It just seems so odd that he did not sustain any hit or injury prior to the seizure.  This entire situation was just suddenly and so sad.  I hope the students took advantage of the grief counseling provided.  While death is inevitable, it is still hard to deal with.  I am thankful, though, that his parents chose to donate his organs in order to help other families.
