Calls to Crisis and suicide prevention hotlines surge post election

It has been shown that after this recent election, there has been a tremendous jump in how many suicide hotlines have been being surged. The most popular times people have called are from 1 am and 2 am. Around 660 callas does the national field get. The workers in the field said that many of them haven't seen this much calls/ activity since September 11th, 2001 and also which is a surprise to me, when Robin Williams died. I believe people are having a lot of trouble of adjusting to whoever they wanted to win losing and how thats going to effect there lives.
This is sad to see how many people re handling this election. I feel like we should all be there for each other no matter who they voted for because suicide is never the option. I do understand why many people did call and the workers compared it to 9/11, is because people were scared, frightened , didn't know what to do with themselves, and let alone move forward.
