U.S. Military Hackers have infiltrated the Russian infrastructure, putting them into a vulnerable position of being attacked. The U.S. Gov. did this to protect the act of a cyber attack. If Russia attacked central infrastructure, the U.S. Gov. officials declare such an act would be an act of war. This is very unlikely but the threat of mischief attacks would be far more likely. These mischief attacks could encourage the spread of false information to sway the election.
I believe that to the popular public, this nature of "battling" countries over cyber-space is very unheard of and feels very foreign to them as a concept. I believe in the coming year, this problem will arise to the front view of the American public and become a familiar topic of the politics in America. I believe this situation could be related to Edward Snoweden with his involvement in leaking classified information to wiki-leaks. This concept of cyber-privacy arose as a very controversial and familiar topic of the American Politics plane. This is important to have in the public eye because this shows a whole population of a nation could become completely exposed just because of a cyber-attack. The American public needs to be informed on this sort of information.
