The World's View of Trump- Leah Lara

Trump is no stranger to the media, and this is no exception on the worldly stage as well. Trump's policies have penetrated around the world- and the foreign press has a lot to say about it. Trump's relationship with Mexico has not at all been peaches in cream, as Trump has attacked the large population of Mexican immigrants in the United states. His claims that he will force the Mexican government to pay for a wall in order to keep immigrant out, has received a lot of backlash and mockery in the Mexican media. The headache which Trump has caused Mexico is greatly summed up by the quote from Milenio;" Trump is the man who managed to make us miss the Bush clan."
Many Americans often joked about moving to Canada at the result of Trump's presidency, and Anti- Trump sentiments are strong there as well. In February, the Toronto Star made the following comment about Trump;"A man of unmatched ego and wealth has passed himself off as a savior to the weak and the demoralized." Other countries views about Trump seem to follow the same sentiment. German Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitburg said-"If a communist propaganda ministry had been commissioned a gifted cartoonist to draw a typically American rouge, he would have invented a figure like "The Donald." The only country who had a positive outlook of Trump was Russia, " Both (Putin and Trump) are anti mainstream and confident people who don't feel contained by political correctness," said Moscow Times.

The outcome of the 2016 election was unpredictable by both average Americans, and the rest of the world. It is no exaggeration to say that his presidency rocks the boat of how politics has been done previously in our country, and many people are worried about their futures. Not only is the future of American citizens at stake, the United stated relationship with foreign countries is at stake as well. Many foreign governments do not view Trump as a real political leader, and as someone who cannot restrain himself from getting into a battle on twitter, how can Trump respectfully manage alliances with other countries? I can relate Trumps election as president to no other than the election of Andrew Jackson. The election of 1828 was the first election which non-property owners could vote. As a result of this mass population of uneducated white males voting- they elected someone who wasn't qualified for the job.The majority of people that voted for Trump were uneducated white males. But let us hope, for the sake of the United States, and the rest of the world, that Trump doesn't prove to be the president that we all think he will be.
