Anna Czyzewski - White Supremacists Praise Trump

Summary: After the election of Donald Trump as President, he began listing names that would be part of his cabinet. One of these was the Chief Strategist taken by Steve Bannon, a former Breitbart executive and apparently a new hope for the "alt-right movement", otherwise known as white supremacists. Although Trump has repeatedly disregarded support by the KKK, it's obvious he doesn't mind this type of attention. David Duke, a former KKK leader, expressed his satisfaction for Trump's choice, calling Bannon an "individual who's basically creating the ideological aspects of where we're going." If that wasn't enough, Rocky J. Suhayda, chairman of the American Nazi party dubbed it as a "call to action." As we near his inauguration, we find more and more about Donald Trump every day.

Analysis: It astounds me that these terrorist groups feel so comfortable speaking out and celebrating. Of course it's not shocking, but the fact that these people are safer than many of the minorities in our country speaks volumes. This choice by Donald Trump proves that he knows what he's doing, but in the worst way possible. If these people are celebrating, we must keep fighting. In the future, just like the past during the Civil Rights Movement, the prevalent terrorism that we must fear will be white nationalism. And the election of Donald Trump, and his cabinet members, only prove how much of America is in the past.

  1. I think it's sad that all these racist groups are popping backup out of nowhere just because they see this President.Hopefully nothing seriously bad will happen in the future because of this mess.

  2. I honestly think that a person who can cause these groups to pop back up should not be president especially if he isn't taking any action against them.

  3. This kind of uproar really brings massive amounts of stress to minority groups in the country. Whether they're facing economic turmoil or struggling within violent communities, the last thing they need is social inequality brought about by discrimination.

  4. I've watched a documentary recently that also stated that ever since Donald Trump publicly announced that he was running for president the numbers of KKK members have increase .
