On Monday, Mr. Obama claimed that urged Donald Trump to present 'signals of unity' to minority groups and women. Previously, during the campaign, Obama referred to Donald Trump as unqualified to be a president and temperamentally unfit. However, now that Trump was elected president, Obama has been avoiding certain questions and says that he thinks it "would not be appropriate to comment." Mr. Obama has began to prioritize leading an orderly transition of power for the good of the country.
This election was very rough and many people were upset with the outcome, but I think that it's good that Obama tried to encourage Trump to try to unify all of the separation from the 2016 election. I also respect that Obama is trying to continue the American tradition of a peaceful transition of powers.

I respect Obama for this, but I need to correct the phrasing you employed: women are still minorities. They are still disadvantaged in the workplace, and there are still societies that put down women far less subtly than the judgmental comments and adverts of western society. You can definitely say minorities INCLUDING women, though, to specify that they are a major group.

Jada Brown - ^ I also respect him for his positive encouragement toward Trump. Even though he won't be in office, he'll still be in office. He has really grown a love for the United States.

ReplyDeleteI agree! I think Obama is handling the situation well from what I've seen. He did openly supported Hillary and, even though the election did not go as he'd planned, I'm glad he's able to still be supportive of Trump.
