Summary: On Monday, President Vladimir Putin of Russia called Donald Trump and congratulated him on his win for the presidency. They discussed the bad relationship between U.S and Russia, and hope to repair the relationship so they can band together against terrorists and the Syrian Crisis. Trump also appeared to absolve Russia of responsibility for the Annexation of Crimea and Intervention in Ukraine. This would go directly against the Obama administration's investigation that called for the investigation into international war crimes.
Analysis: This is a great step for America; if the U.S can get in good terms with Russia that would be very great for us. This can really help out the Syrian refugee crisis with the aide of Russia and not have them against us. I do think that Russia should be held accountable for their war crimes though, they can't go unpunished. This can be synthesized with the "peace" between America and Britain after the War of 1812, there was still some resentment of each other but nothing crazy.
I'm all for repairing ties with countries that we haven't been on good terms with. Hopefully everything will work out, hopefully....
