A report posted Thursday by the Pew Research Center shows that an estimated 8 million undocumented immigrants were working or looking for work in 2014 compared to an estimated 8.1 million in 2009. From 1995 to 2005 the undocumented workforce's population jumped from 3.6 to 7.3 million according to Pew. this means that the undocumented workforce has drastically slowed down its population growth and is actually beginning to shrink. This change likely occurred because of the increased border control between the US and Mexico as well as Mexico recent steady economy. Less and less Mexican citizens have felt the need to move to America for work.
This Research is extremely good news for both the United States and Mexico as undocumented immigrants make up a colossal 5% of the US workforce and and estimated 17% of the US agricultural workforce. They are a symbol of corrupt business as well as extreme poverty in the World and it can bring hope to all the with further efforts to tighten illegal immigration and keep the economy stable that the undocumented workforce population can decrease even further.
