Madison Ceurter 5th period: Investigator: Failed clamp caused circus accident
A horrible accident happened at the Ringling Bros. performance in Rhode Island. There were 8 acrobats hanging on a rig that was 25 to 35 feet off the ground by their hair in an act called Medeiros Hair-Hang Act. Suddenly somehow the clamp failed and it caused the acrobats to fall. The acrobats are at the Rhode Island Hosiptal and 11 people are injured, but one is very critical. This type of accident has never happened to this many people in the Ringling Bros before. The show was cancelled and everyone was told to exit after the accident happened. Two more performances were cancelled after this. Still no one knows what happened and they are still investigating what caused this accident. This is very scary and I think that the employees of the circus have to know that at anytime they are in a risk of injury. I hope these acrobats are okay and that the Ringling Bros. don't get in any trouble.
