Recently in Alaska, a woman who was out jogging was mauled by a bear that was protecting it's cubs. She was able to walk a mile to reach help.
There isn't a lot to the story of this event, except I find it fascinating that the woman had the strength to do this. I also like that the article does include that the bear was defending it's cubs and they do not criminalize the bear since it was only acting on natural instinct. Kudos to the woman for being able to do that. She's kind of her own hero which is awesome. Independence, yay!
