Claire Zimmerman: Twins Born Holding Hands

On Mother's Day, one mother got a very surprising gift: her twins were born holding hands. They shared an amniotic sac and placenta, which is apparently very rare, only 10,000 babies are born this way. So not only were they born on Mother's Day, but they were also born as best friends.

I thought this was really cute! There's an image on the website that has shows the two holding hands and crying. I never thought that something like that could happen, but it made me very happy to see that. I don't really know why, but it made me happy. Also, I didn't really know how rare that was for them to be in the same amniotic sac. I guess I always assumed that twins were in the same thing, but I guess not. I don't know, I need to learn more about the female body, I suppose, even though I am a female.

  1. This is crazy! What a great gift to receive as a mother and especially on mothers day. Hopefully this friendship of the twins will last as they grow up!

  2. Talk about perfect timing! This is too cute. These kids have a lot to live up to being the "best friends from the womb"
