"Embrace" Your Body: Brumfitt shows the way- Madison Russell
Former bodybuilder, current photographer, and mother, Taryn Brumfitt has started a campaign.
After obsessing over her body and its weight after pregnancy, Brumfitt decided that there was to be a change. Her obsessing was not demonstrating the kind of love a woman should have for her body-- especially for younger girls such as her daughter who are bound to mimic the actions of the women around her.
She plans on creating a documentary called, "Embrace," that, "explores our obsession with body perfection."
There seems to be a new surge of positive body conscious movements in today's world, something not only revolutionary, but also very uplifting. There will always be those who critisize the movements or twist them beyond their original intentions of uplifting, but with every negative take on the revolution, there are many other positive takes. A number of these movements become popular on the World Wide Web, and have aided me in seeing my body in a new light. Hopefully there will come a time in history in which all body types are accepted and respected.
