Perhaps I'll be pegged for this opinion but... I don't think US military invention will do much to help the situation. It's not that I don't care about saving these girls -- I do, and my hope is that they make it out alive and well -- I just don't think the US sticking it's nose in when Nigeria has not asked for help won't do much to help. Does anyone remember Joseph Kony? You know, the Ugandan responsible for abducting thousands of children to build up his army The Lord's Resistance army? We sent our troops in two and a half years ago and he's still at large. He hasn't even been spotted. Meanwhile, the US military presence in Uganda has become stronger and will only continue to do so. This article here explains my feelings much better than I can describe.

Wednesday, The Pentagon announced that it would be dispatching some US military advisers to Nigeria. The advisers will be aiding President Goodluck Jonathan in the search to find the 200+ missing girls captured by Islamist insurgency group Boko Haram. These military advisers will be accompanied by CIA agents, FBI agents, and other US officials. The UK has also prepared to send SAS Special Force Units if asked for assistance by Nigeria.
