Summary: On Tuesday afternoon, Judge John E. Jones III of the Federal District Court declared Pennsylvania's ban on same-sex marriages unconstitutional. Pennsylvania was the last state in the northeast to have this ban, and becomes the 19th state to recognize same-sex marriages. Governor Tom Corbett said he was studying the decision and deciding whether or not to try and appeal it. Even with the governor weighing his options, state officials began issuing marriage licenses to couples shortly after the ruling was announced.
Analysis: It's exciting to see more and more states declaring bans on same-sex marriages unconstitutional. Just within the past few months, seven states have struck down the past ruling and have starting allowing same-sex couples to legally be married within state borders. I'm so happy that this type of change is sweeping through the nation and hopefully even more states will get rid of these bans soon.

I agree! I think people should be able to express themselves in any way and allowing same sex marriage seems like no problem to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that the judge did this! hooray, progress. I hope it spreads around.
