Nia Edwards 4th period North Carolina congressional candidate keith Crisco Dies

Nia Edwards
4th period

A businessman who was in a close race for a Democratic congressional seat in North Carolina died on Monday May 12th, 2014. His name was Keith Crisco. He died in Asheboro in his own home around 1 pm with no apparent cause other than old age. He was 71. Crisco was running a close second in the primary battle in North Carolina's second congressional district behind Clay Aiken. He was a textile entrepreneur and had co-founded Asheboro Elastics. He was also a former state commerce secretary. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, his three children, and his six grandchildren.

It so sad how sudden death comes. It is also sad that he died before the end of this primary race for a congressional seat. I couldn't imagine what his family must be thinking or how they feel. The final result would have been expected on Tuesday. This is sad because he was so close to being able to see the outcome of this whole race. This reminded me that life is very fragile and death is sudden.
