Redemption song: Musician gives concerts, guitars to inmates

Things like this just make me happy to be alive.
Wayne Kramer has been performing for dozens of inmates in prisons throughout the United States. This is all for his charity, Jail Guitar Doors. Kramer and his fellow musicians play concerts for a near 100 inmates each time. Once they finish, they leave some musical instruments behind to be used for song-writing workshops for the inmates.
Kramer's belief in doing this is that people on the outside about those on the inside and that outsiders "believe in them". He claims that the guitars "are not gifts" but are rather "a challenge to you". The spark for this inspiration may have resulted from Kramer's time in prison in Lexington, Kentucky in the 1970's.
During this time, famous punk band The Clash became inspired to write a song about him called "Jail Guitar Doors". Kramer explains that having a guitar during his time in prison helped him stay maintained and survive through it all.
It's phenomenal to see people giving back to the world with music, especially when it's used as a vehicle to try and help people get through rock bottom. Once again, music brings us together. My only wish is that we have more of this each day, everywhere.
