There was a wildfire in the Texas panhandle burning nearly 100 homes. The wildfire started Sunday and was not put out until today, Monday. Several families were evacuated to a school gym while rescuers tried to put out the fire.
The article was written by Jim Forsyth. It's crazy that it took a whole weekend to put out this wildfire. Since it is becoming summer soon and Texas is prone to droughts, wildlife parks should have more rangers roaming the parks so they can detect a wildfire like this one soon and put it out. This should prevent the destruction that wildfire normally do.

I always find it amazing at how little attention wild fires get. They happen quite often, especially in Texas, but yet we rarely here but a little blurb about it here or there. My sympathies go out to the people whose homes were burned and I hope they contain the fires soon.
ReplyDeleteI think that might help a bit, but a lot of times wildfires do not start from human causes, and are completely out of our hands.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Texas gets enough rain to prevent droughts and fires like this one. We have had such hot and dry summers in the past and I hope that doesn't happen again.
