Will Ferrell contributes to cancer scholarship by Edwin Kumar 5th

" Will Ferrell's college friend Craig Pollard started 'Cancer for College' after battling cancer twice nearly cost him his life. The charity provides scholarships for current and former cancer survivors whose medical bills have left little for college. Ferrell is a spokesperson and fundraiser for Cancer for College and sits on the charity's board.
Palm Springs, CA (CNN) -- Back in 1993, my friend Craig Pollard set out with a very simple mission. He wanted to help cancer survivors realize their dreams of a college education.
As a two-time cancer survivor himself, Craig saw first hand how the disease can devastate a family physically, emotionally and financially. Even families with great insurance can exhaust all their resources trying to return their children to good health, leaving little if nothing for that child's continued education.
Since inception, Cancer for College has granted over $2 million in scholarships to more than 1,000 survivors from around the country. It's an opportunity for these young people who have had to endure so much to feel like they can return to some kind of normalcy in their lives. All the applicant stories are so inspiring with many of the survivors wanting to go on to become doctors, nurses and counselors. Some even go on to work in the very hospitals where they were treated" -CNN

Anaylsis: My father having  had cancer, makes me very appreciative to this dedication from Will and Pollard, hospital bills can be expensive. To points of extremes, easily totaling equivalent to over a college tuition, ranging in the hundred thousands sometimes. I really hope everyone gets the education they deserve, especially cancer patients who have to go through so much.

  2. This is great that a celebrity is using his fame and fortune to help make the world become a better place. Celebrities and people who are often in the lime light have a very integral position in helping to set a positive example for those that look up to them.

I agree with Griffin. I think it's wonderful that celebrities use their fame and fortune to bring attention to a serious issue. Kudos to Ferrell and his friend.
