Katey Guinn "Cruise ship passengers sickened on luxury liners" By Tom Watkins

More than 100 passengers including crew aboard the  Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas has fallen ill. The passengers were vomiting and had diarrhea, the disease agency said. The CDC is supposed to be working on improving the sanitation of the ship as soon as possible. There are so man people in a small and inclosed place that it is easy to pass on and catch an infection from others on the ship. They think that the cause of this sickness is a disease called norovirus, which is a really infectious virus that can be caught through contaminated food or water and by touching contaminated surfaces. This causes inflammation of the stomach and intestines, and it often leads to stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Next time you go on a cruise, make sure you check up on the sanitary situations and be careful when you go on a cruise. You never know what you might catch or transmit to others.

  1. This sounds like a nightmare. Cruises have always seemed slightly hellish to me, but wow this cruise really takes the crown in awfulness. I hope all of those people get well soon.

  2. I think a lot of it has to do with what cruise line you choose, but even so it must've been awful for those poor people who couldn't enjoy their trip because they had to stay in their cabins sick all day. The next time I go on a cruise I will be sure to bring Airborne!
