Offshore 6.9 magnitude earthquake shakes Northern California Ilana Lemack

An offshore 6.9 magnitude earthquake and aftershocks shook the coast of Northern California and parts of Oregon on Sunday, March 9. The main quake, centered in the Pacific Ocean about 50 miles west of Eureka, California, happened at 10:18 p.m and the depth was around 10 miles. A resident of Eureka told reporters that he felt the earthquake for around 10 seconds. The man said, "It wasn't a jolter; it was a wave." More than 15 aftershocks were reported in the area within five hours. The strongest shaking was reported in the Eureka area, with weak motion felt in west-central Oregon and in the San Francisco areaThere is no tsunami threat, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

uhhhh what?!?! greetings from SanFran...and I guess I am a survivor of an earthquake? Yes, I am here in San Francisco and no i did not feel any bit of an earthquake last night and I was walking around last night at that time. However, i guess just because i didnt feel it doesnt mean it didnt happen! I saw this in the current event section on CNN and laughed because we were just talking about being in California and Earthquakes. Anyways, all is good, at least in the SF area...merry spring break

peace and blessings
