Saturday March 22, three cow elephants escaped their enclosures in St Louis, Missouri after hearing loud noises from circus crowds. The three elephants were not hurt but they did ding a few cars, etc. The trainers scrambled to corral the beasts, and fortunately did. There was no damage to others, and the elephants got to cope with the trauma.
This is really odd, a little funny, and kinda sad. These poor gentle giants have little room to move, no flexibility to be real wild animals, ya know? Sometimes i wish they woudln't have to contain elephants just because they're easy to train and entertaining to watch. I enjoyed the elephants at the circus when i was little! But now i have more information on their captivity and treatment, etc. What do you think we should do about circus animals or captive animals in general? Comment below.

I don't think elephants should be held in captivity. It's cruel and they are are so gentle. I hope circuses realize this and stop the abuse towards elephants.
ReplyDeleteElephants are my favorite animal but I hate it when I see any animal in harmful captivity.
