Baby Shot in NYC by Joi Ware

Summary: Yesterday, Antiq Hennis, 19-month boy, was shot and killed on a Brooklyn street. His parents were walking while they pushed him in the stroller when he was suddenly shot. He was announced dead on arrival at Brookdale Hospital, the parents were distraught. De'Marquise Elkins, 18 year old, was convicted 2 days earlier for the shooting and killing of another 1 year old boy, Antonio Santiago, in Brunswick. He shot the baby and the mother after demanding money. Elkins faces a mandatory life sentence for the killing of Antonio.

Analysis: You would think that babies have the safest role in human society, but in fact that have been the target of lately. It's crazy that someone could take a human, but to take it from someone so young is absolutely absurd. For the first crime Elkins wanted money, but he doesn't seem to have a motive for the second crime, just to kill. Babies are innocent and helpless in the world, so if they were in danger they would need help and in this case both babies were totally out of luck. There are some sick crimes committed in our world and the fact the guy didn't have any remorse after the first killing is crazy sickening.

  1. It seems so ironic. Babies are known for their innocence and lack of abilities, and for someone to target someone so helpless is just cruel

  2. It is horrible of someone to kill any human, and it's completely sickening for someone to shoot a baby especially. This is such a rare occurrence and I would never expect someone to be so cruel to shoot such an innocent being.
