I
read the article, Teens Say They Don’t
Text or Drink While Driving, Kinda, by Maanvi Singh from NPR.org. This
story discusses teen safety behind the wheel and their interpretations of
driving rules. According to Singh, half of teens who say they never text and
drive text at red lights or stop signs and 10% of teens who say they don’t
drink and drive have driven while under the influence. Teens also define a
designated driver as someone who drinks or smokes a little bit, not someone who
is completely sober. I believe that this issue very much concerns us. These
actions are very dangerous and while warnings about safety become white noise I
believe that they should be taken seriously. Do you feel that these findings
could be accurate from what you know of our generation? Comment!

Wow! I'm going to read that article now. The world is beautiful and strange.
ReplyDeleteThe fault for such confusion in teenagers can be laid squarely at the feet of their irresponsible parents.
ReplyDeleteI think being irresponsible while driving is the worse time. You could kill someone with a second just my a simple false move. It's very ignorant for teens to not realize that.
ReplyDeletedriving is really practical, but there are infinite of possibilities to get hurt or make the wrong decision. i know our generation thinks they can text and drive like weve "perfected" it, but it's dangerous. lets stop or be more cautious!!
ReplyDeleteI think our generation has came down to depending on drugs and alcohol as an escape.I feel as though we see ourselves as superior and able to do whatever we want. But we cant change the natural occurrence of being drunk or getting high. We make these stupid decisions and then make more when we become unstable.
ReplyDeleteIn history books our era will be taught as the time of rebellion of the youth
