Summary: Early Monday morning, Los Angeles was woken by a 4.4 magnitude earthquake, an unusual feeling for the area because of it's locations in the Santa Monica Mountains. This earthquake was the largest since the Northridge quake almost 20 years ago. Luckily no immediate injuries were reported. A USGS seismologist said that the damage, if any, would be very minimal considering the low magnitude.
Analysis: This earthquake sounds extremely scary, especially since I was in LA only a few days ago. I'm glad to hear that there were no injuries or damage reported. I hope that quakes in LA don't become frequent and that the "earthquake drought" continues instead of ending.

That's a pretty high caliber earthquake. But still, California is known for their Earthquakes, so it's not too surprising.
ReplyDeleteWow, I did my blog on this too! I agree with you on the fact that I hope that the earthquake drought continues instead of ending.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know that there was no damage. Even though California gets many earthquakes, I don't think the people there will ever get used to them because they are so unexpected!
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy! thankfully it was not very bad but they should take caution from possibly worst ones to come
