Michelle Byrom hired a killer to murder her husband on June 4th, 1999. She was sentenced on November 18, 2000 to die on death row. A new trial has been ordered for the lady according to a Supreme Court opinion issued Monday. This now 57 year old woman was convicted of being behind "the murder for hire plot to kill her abusive husband, a killing her on had admitted to committing in several jailhouse letters." The court instructed that a different judge should be assigned to Byrom's new trial other than the one who imposed the death penalty on her. In 1999 Byrom was said to have plotted to kill her husband, who was fatally shot, while she was in the hospital receiving treatment for double pneumonia. Byrom Jr. said that he had committed the crime himself because he was tired of his father's abuse. It is still believed that Michelle Byrom was the mastermind for this murder. The trial is still being decided.
This is so weird that this trial has gone on for so long. I think the judge needs to come to a decision and properly end this trial. I don't think that the woman should be on death penalty but she does deserve to be in jail for the crime she committed. There could've been other ways she could have handled her abusive husband other that hiring someone to kill him. I hope that they come up with a fair punishment for the woman and stop dragging it out so long.

This is an interesting story considering there are two people telling two different version of it. I hope that the new case will use all evidence available and also take a new look at everything to help determine the correct outcome.
