Former Louisiana governor, Edwin Edwards, who served eight years in prison for racketeering charges, plan to run for congress. He plans to replace Republican Bill Cassidy who is running for U.S. Senate.
This article was written on March 17 by Kathy Finn, Yahoo! News. When I first read this I thought Edwards was insane. Why would anyone pick him if he's been in jail? The crazy thing I found in the article is that it stated that it says nothing about a person with a felon running for congress. This puzzled me beyond reason. The fact that he went to jail based on the decisions he choose shows that he would be a bad canon date for any office.

Well, I guess at this point you have to trust the people to not vote for a felon.
