The US Navy is now in the process of testing its "next-generation" war craft. This new craft consists of a massive warship set up with the latest radar technology and a systems to accommodate unmanned, carrier-launched drones. The navy expects this craft to undergo more than two years of strenuous testing. The "USS Ford" weighs nearly 100,000 tons, and will eventually be
home to more than 4,600 service people and around 75 aircraft. This warship requires a much longer testing time than most warships due to its incorporation of new
technologies, including radar systems, more efficient nuclear power plants and electromagnetic launchers designed to more effectively propel aircraft off the carrier's deck.
The creation of this new warship leads me to wonder why it is necessary. The United States is obviously preparing for something that demands the up most attention and testing of accuracy within this ship.
