36 year old father, Brandon Reynolds, of Albuquerque was charged with child abuse after beating his 5 year old daughter to death. This occurred last Friday after she told him she didn't want to do her homework. Reynolds began spanking his daughter when she refused to do her homework around 8pm Thursday. Reynolds didn't call 911 until Friday at 1 am. He left her suffering from cardiac arrest. Doctors tried to revive the girl at University of New Mexico Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Reynolds is now being held at Metropolitan Detention Center.
Stories like these completely break my heart. I just don't understand how someone could do this to anyone much less there own 5 year old daughter. I feel saddened for the daughter's family. I hope to hear stories like this less often.
