This article was published in The New York Times and written by Donald G. McNeil Jr. on May 20. The article informs readers about the numbers behind the spreading of the disease and patterns. The audience is the people of the country of the United States since this is where the disease is. This can be connected to the diseases that the Europeans gave to the Native Americans, killing the majority of them. This was one of the main causes of the decrease of Indians on this land.

Lily Philips- Measles Outbreak!!
This year’s outbreak of the measles is the largest since 1994 where 41 different cases were reported in one week. The cases of this disease have been in 24 different states in our country and have now reached 880 people. There is not a consistent rate of spreading, and it cannot be calculated. The transmission of this sickness is lower when there is warmer weather, especially going into these summer months. Since some are worried, there have been an increase of vaccines available to patients.
