Alabama's new abortion legislation has invoked a lot of controversy and many different opinions on the matter. The state's Republican governor, Kay Ivey, signed some of the most restrictive abortion laws our country has seen in a long time earlier this week. Many are saying that it directly challenges Roe v. Wade. This article is a selection of many strong opinions that people have shared, on both sides of the argument.
This article was written on May 17, 2019. It relates to US history because of the obvious correlation to Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion. It seems like everyone is either on one side or the other, no in between. Honestly, I'm not an advocate for abortion, however, I strongly believe women should have the right to choose for themselves because it's their body and their life. There are many pregnancies that are a result of rape or incest and those survivors should at least be able to choose what they want.
