The Article talks about a preposed law in North Carolina that would give a 5% increase in salary for teachers who take basic police training and carry a gun in school. The law attempts to “bridge the gap” between the demand for security at schools and the amount of people willing to defend schools. The article mentions a resistance group that is against this bill.

This article was written during a time where school security is a very important issue for people who want to know more. It was written to inform people of North Carolina’s solution to the issue. This is important because school shootings do happen and if teachers had guns they could stop a shooter.

  1. THis wouldn't work because now there would be more guns on campus and a student could easily take the teachers gun and kill more people. Actual gun laws and regulations should be put in place instead of endangering kids even more.
