Measles Outbreak in the Philippines- Gracie Zytynski
This article written by Euan McKirdy apart of CNN discusses the recent measles outbreak in the Philippines. The outbreak has caused the death of 261 people and 2.6 million children at risk, resulting in this outbreak to cause more deaths than in all of 2018. The victims of this outbreak were mainly children under the age of 5 years. In 2018, there was a total death of 202, but in this outbreak there has already been 261 deaths. As a result of this, the Philippines Department of Health is now reaching to immunize all unvaccinated children. This connects to the Bubonic Plague that occurred in the mid-fourteenth century. During this five year period, almost half of the population in Eurasia died. There was a total death of 75 million out of the 200 million population.
