The article i chose is about the devastation from the 2018 hurricane season, lingers in communities across the southeast. But in one town, a group of students found a way to turn their own misfortune into help for those in need. When Hurricane Michael, swept over the Central Virginia town of Farmville, Hampden-Sydney College was left uncovered in uprooted trees. Some boys decided that they should turn the trees into firewood for families that need it during the winter. Mike Stallings, the manager of construction, offered to use his own equipment. After spending nearly a day cutting the trees into firewood, the churches and other volunteers distributed the firewood throughout the community.

This, i feel, is a heart-warming event. It was satisfactory of the boys to offer their help and energy to the community, especially after Hurricane Michael happening and people already being set back by it. It relates to history because of in August 23, 2005 when Hurricane Katrina occurred in Louisiana, New Orleans, Mississippi and other places. I know that because of the huger number of casualties and the setback of this event, that they would have definitely been in need of some people to be able to help out.

  1. I am happy to see that people are making a difference to help people in need and hope to see more of this from everyone in the future. It is important that we help people all over the world because we are all humans who need some help every once and a while. Lily Philips
