Saudi Arabia takes one step further in women's rights by planning to open female-only gyms in every neighborhood. In schools, there are no classes, activities, or sports that allow girls the time to participant in and learn about physical education. This is due to the strict conservative rules and guidelines that are put on Saudi Arabian women. The effect this has on women are visible in the study the Center for Disease Control preformed; the result showed that there was more obesity among women in men in the country. These gyms will allow women to get exercise, but still prohibits them to engage in sports like the men do.
I applaud Saudi Arabia for taking this step, but still don't think that no physical education in schools for girls is right. In the US, most of us take gym class and education for granted because we don't see the effect it has on our lives later on. I hope that this country keeps taking more steps towards women equality.

Saudi Arabia has a long way to go in terms of being a good place for women, but this step, even if small, is a step in the right direction. I hope to see more progress from the Middle East because the way that women are treated in that region is atrocious.
