"White House was warned Flynn could be blackmailed by Russia" Audrey Griffin

White House was warned Flynn could be blackmailed by Russia

Summary: President Trump's Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, came under fire even before he was appointed for his connections to Russia. He formerly misrepresented his relationship with the Russian ambassador. These trepidations were voiced by former Attorney General Sally Yates before she was fired from the administration due to her refusal to defend the religion-based immigration ban. President Trump and VP Mike Pence previously defended Flynn but have recently taken a more conservative stance on the matter. It has still not been proven whether Flynn did actually share unauthorized information with Russia's ambassador.

Analysis: I think it's a little ironic for the Trump administration to admonish connections with foreign countries and focus so heavily on Hillary Clinton's email scandal and then continue to have so many conflicts of interest so early in Trump's term. Both Trump and Flynn have connection to Russian officials but, more importantly, almost everyone Trump has appointed has had some sort of business-related conflict of interest, whether they are a CEO or play golf with one. I believe that Trump could improve his administration and narrow the bipartisan divide by choosing less radical advisors to help him make more politically-wise choices.
