Kate Pinkerton - JFK Airport Security Breach

Summary - This Monday 11 people didn't go through security at JFK airport by going through an unattended security checkpoint. At first they couldn't find the fliers, who all continued to go onto different flights, but eventually the authorities found the three of them that had set off the metal detector. Security breaches are very common but because of the multiple layers of screening and pre checks, authorities work to make sure that all flights are safe. Still some other passengers were scared.

Analysis - This article is unbiased and contains only facts, and the manner of the writing is very calm and reassuring. The purpose of this article is to show people about the security breach that happened by providing more details that authorities might not have released, but also showing the actions that the airport took to make sure all the flights were safe. I'm surprised that the airport even notices that 11 people slipped through security with an airport of that size. I watched a video earlier how the security screenings don't actually do anything, they're just to scare people into not bringing guns, but apparently they do work or else the airport wouldn't be so worried about these people slipping through. Because of 9/11 there was a great increase in security in airports and an increased fear of terrorist attacks in the US.
