Summary- Gregory Locke boarded the subway in New York to head uptown and right away he knew something was up. He said, everyone was sitting there and looked stunned. Locke is a New York attorney originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He said as soon as the doors closed he saw it on the windows and doors. Someone had used a Sharpie to make swastikas and hate-filled graffiti all over the subway car: "Jews belong in the oven," "Destroy Islam," "Heil Hitler." Passengers were uncomfortable and didn't know what to do, he said. But then a man stood up and said, "Hand sanitizer gets rid of Sharpie pen. We need alcohol," The man was Jared Nied, a chef in Manhattan. A woman across from Locke offered him a tissue to help. Then everyone started digging for hand sanitizer and wipes and began removing the graffiti. Locke said. "It was very uplifting to see everyone come together like that." The attorney posted the account on Facebook where it went viral and by midday Sunday it was shared more than 250,000 times and was even noticed by former first daughter Chelsea Clinton who tweeted about it. "We will not let hate win. And, another reason to carry hand sanitizer"
Analysis- This article was posted on Monday Feb 6th by Donie O'Sullivan producer for the Social Discovery Team. While this article shows there are hateful, racist people out there and I can't help but be reminded of "The Holocaust" because of the graffiti, it also shows that there are many more good people that will come together and will not put up with it. I am so proud of those that participated in this and I hope to see less of the hatred and more of the unity in our future.
I'm so glad these people came together to clean the hate of others. But it really shows how much we forget about the world around us. It's easy to forget that there are still Nazis out there, especially since they've been the villains in many of our movies. It still shocks me how many Nazis there are out there.

I love that there was unity in standing up for the rights of others. It's always good to now that there are people looking out for one another.
