What's the Popes position on gay rights? Who knows! By Eleanor E-W

During his visit to the United States, Pope Francis met with Kim Davis (the woman put in jail for refusing to issue a marriage license to a gay couple), and also with one of his longtime friends from Argentina, and his (gay) friends boyfriend, causing people to question what the popes position on gay marriage and homosexuality was. Traditionally, the Catholic church hasn't been particularly friendly towards gay people, so it seems like the pope wouldn't be either--especially considering his meeting with Davis. However, Pope Francis may not have actually known much about Davis or her case, and also seems to be a very tolerant man.
Personally, I think Pope Francis is one of the best Pope's thus far! Like the article said, as the leader of the Catholic church, he focuses more on tolerance, love, good values etc. then he does on trying to be really strict on social issues (abortion, gay rights etc.). That being said, I still doubt he is gay friendly--I mean he is the leader of the catholic church. I also doubt he knew much about the Davis case, and I think it's really important that he is trying to promote tolerance in the Catholic church, which is certainly a step in the right direction!

I am pleased to hear about the new wave of tolerance in the Catholic Church and I'm glad the Pope is bringing it to light.
