A 5-year-old Kentucky boy was
struck and killed by his school bus after he got off at his stop. They were
unloading the bus on a Monday morning. They didn’t really specify if he walked
in the front or back of the bus. The bus driver has driven for that district
for 18 years. They don’t have any more information on how this happened. "Kentucky State Patrol is investigating. The Butler County School District has not replied to CNN's request for comment."
This is so sad to see this happen.
It was a child that had only lived 5 years of his life. He never got to
graduate from elementary school to middle school, or have to deal with the
rough teenage years. That bus may have come out of nowhere. There was nothing
you could do about it. His parents are probably never going to get over this. If they ever have another kid they'll be very overprotective of them. This has impacted their life tremendously. I know what it's like to get over a loved ones death. It's not the best experience, but you have to move on from the past.
This is terrible! I hope that his family is doing well.
ReplyDeleteThere should be much more strict regulations on who gets to operate these massive vehicles that carry so many young children in them. The busses themselves are deathtraps as well, no seatbelts on that large a vehicle that could be taking plenty of kids barreling down the highway at a high speed in bad weather conditions? I'd refuse to ever let the school take my child anywhere, I'd tell them that I would drive my child or that they wouldn't be going. This is something for another time, albeit relevant. Back to the point, however, it is terrible tat tis happened and hopefully his family is able to handle it well. I know I wouldn't be able to.
