Jillian Linnear P.8 // Charges against Chicago dad in son's accidental gun death

On Saturday, the police received a report about a three year old being shot. Turns out that two little boys, ages three and six, were playing cops and robbers when the oldest shot the youngest on accident. The oldest son had found their dad's illegal gun that was on top of the fridge wrapped in a pair of pajama pants. Whilst play cops and robbers the six year old shot the youngest, then ran upstairs to their grandfather who was watching them while their parents were gone. The three year old died at the hospital, the father is currently being charged with child endangerment.

As sad as it is to say, I'm not really shocked. Because with the world that we live in today this isn't the first time I've heard a news story about this. I believe that this is very relevant to today's society, as more and more children are being hurt/killed by guns. I believe that this can be used as evidence to prove that stricter gun control rules should be enforced so events like do not be come more frequent.

  1. I completely agree. Also, this proves how horrible parents can be! If the parents were watching their children, I'm sure the oldest wouldn't have had the gun in his hand in the first place.
