Montana Dalton 2nd - Dogs gone wild?

Around 3:50 am at Southern Middle School in Maryland, a deer was chased throughout the school by two dogs of German shepherd decent. Though people may see this lightly, the spokesperson from the school estimates the damages could cost as much as $5,000. As police arrived at the vacant school, they noticed the two dogs, broken glass everywhere, plus an injured deer along with a dead one. The dogs owner has been identified and is now in the process of being interviewed and questioned. For now the school has been shut down and repairs are being made.

I find this story somewhat comedic and slightly dramatic. Even if there was some broken glass and possibly a desk or two that was damaged, would the entire school necessarily need to be shut down? I wonder how the students will receive their academics or what provisions will be needed to help them finish their school year.
