The Astonishing Growth of Government Spending on the Poor- Natalie Newman

Everyone is aware of the dramatic increase on government spending towards the poor. There are three specific areas in which this increase is coming from; more people in the US, health care and new programs. Things established under the Affordable Care Act, such as Medicaid, Medicare and new insurance exchange are the causes for the increase in low-income spending.

Many people take notice of the fact that the government spending on the poor is aiding them so that they don’t “miss out” from growth. Many others, however, feel that this galore of money could be spent towards “more productive” things.
