At an Illinois industrial plant, three men trapped inside a massive explosion warned others to leave the building before the blast. Three people have so far been confirmed dead. One died of injuries at a hospital, and the other two were recovered from the scene."From the information we have, some of the plant personnel -- especially those that are still missing -- alerted others to the issues going on shortly before the incident. At this point we have determined they did help people get out of the building," Lenzi said. Police are not yet releasing names of the deceased, nor do they have much information on how the explosion occurred. The plant told reporters the incident was an accident. Technical rescue specialist are at the scene now checking every spec of the property for clues. Damage from the explosion was approximately one million dollars. Neighbors nearby said they felt their walls shake, like a sonic pulse. The ground quaked and the sound was loud, like a bomb.
This article published by Christina Maxouris and Hollie Silverman, CNN, was published after the weekend of the explosion. Without much information regarding the incident, it is hard for police to release news to the public about the accident. I had no prior knowledge about this explosion before reading it for the blog. This event reminds me of when the nuclear plant exploded at Chernobyl in Ukraine. This was the worst nuclear accident in the world, if those people in that plant in Illinois didn’t warn others, it could have had similar results like Ukraine’s. Chernobyl killed thousands and 70,000 suffered severe poisoning. It's just upsetting that incidents are still an occurring experience with these powerful plants. The audience could be anyone, but since police haven't released much in that area, people could be looking for outside sources to find out where their missing family members are. The purpose and importance of this article is to bring awareness that there were men inside that risked their lives to save their fellow co-workers. Also, nuclear power plants are very dangerous and are a real threat if not taking care of.
It’s good to know that they were actually able to warn others of the explosion before it happened. Accidents like these always having significant effects, whether it’s the death of many or the damage of surrounding areas, so it’s good that some could be prevented.

It's very sad these men managed to contact others to prevent other deaths at the cost of their lives.
