This article was written today by Steve Almasy regarding a 16-year-old
girl named Jchandra Brown who hanged herself in Payson, Utah, while her friend
Tyerell Przybycien recorded it on his cell phone. Her body was discovered the
next day. Przybycien was sentenced
Friday, December 8, to between five years and life in prison as he plead guilty.
Prosecutors stated that
Przybycien aided in Brown’s death through the purchase of the rode and the
tying of the noose that Brown put around her neck. Przybycien also provided
commentary as he recorded her last moments on a 10-minute video.
He added that he hopes Brown's family
will forgive him "for my immature and thoughtless and rash
decisions."
Both sides of the argument could agree that
Przybycien was involved in Brown's death. The prosecution stated Brown wouldn't
have killed herself if not for Przybycien's involvement, while his defense says Brown ultimately decided to end
her life on her own terms.
The case prompted Utah to pass a law this
year making it illegal for someone to help another take their life.
This article’s topic relates to the
genocide of the Jewish in Nazi Germany. Many people of this time sat back and
watched while they knew what was happening was morally wrong.
People are really sick these days they have no common sense on what is funny and what isnt
ReplyDeleteChloe Meinershagen - This article saddens me, my sister's friend recently took his life, and to think that it could have been a situation like this, where someone was standing right there and assisting in the death of someone? Incredible sad.
